    Castelli Nano Bootie, a review.

    Castelli-nano-ovsh-10-zoom

These really are a great product and do everything a regular Belgian Bootie does, (keeps wind out, shoes remain clean and of course boost the Pro look) but also have the added benefit that they will keep out a pretty good amount of rain. I really do like these and it's a really flexible piece of kit, which if you've ever read a review from me means that this product scores highly (*****). There is a slight fetish look about them, but I'm not bothered about that as the function is so good. As I mentioned in the video review, if you don't like Castelli (and I can't think why not) find a brand you like and buy a set, and if you've got some spare cash, buy some for a friend. Any questions, pop them in the comments and I'll answer away.

They look Ace. Do they come in white? I love Castelli and have the Castelli Pioggia 2 at the moment. (in White) I'm very impressed with them.

Not at the moment. Just the one colour. They are pretty cool and I've happy they are in my cycling wardrobe.

Holy moly Rich...you've got a British accent! ;-) Good stuff Rich. Thank you for the video review. Always cool to put a voice to the face. Are these primarily used for cold weather/rain? Or are they used for some other reason? If so, the biggest bummer (or maybe it's not such a bummer) would be that there would only be 1 or 2 days in the year that I would have to wear something like this if they're only for cold weather. But like you specifically mentioned in the review, you'd recommend them "for this country (UK)". Anyway, sorry for the newbie question...just getting my feet wet (no pun intended) in this whole world of "kitting".

    Take care...eatiusbirdius.

It's a Norther Brit accent, or whats left of one. Temp wise really they would be good from 7-16*c, I was feeling pretty Flandrien that day but I did have Castelli Merino socks on and they are toastie warm. That ride dipped down to -1.5*c and my feet froze, but they are not intended for that. These Booties are almost designed with Flanders/Lombardia in mind, cold, wet but you require them to breath as you are working hard.

As they breath so well they are happy on days when it isn't raining, keep your shoes clean and are pretty aero, so the type of use you can get out of them is wide as they could be used for regular road riding, sportives, Crit racing or TT duties. Really cool product.

Thanks for the education Rich! I've learned something new today. Cheers.

My obsession with the Classics from Feb through to Oct will be covered on here. I love the races in Belgium, in particular the Tour of Flanders (Ronde van Vlaanderen). Paris Roubaix along with the Giro di Lombardia are my favourite Monuments. My own exploits will be on here also, which are small and mean nothing to the wonder of the races over the pave.
