Following on from the sub text on Fat Belly Busting Rides that says 'short rides sustain, and long rides nourish', what does going on the rollers do.

It allows me to cram a useful session into a relatively short period. It doesn't feed the soul, or free the mind, so theres a huge part still requiring that space. What it does allow me to do is concentrate on small intervals, pushing myself, hurting the legs, feeling 'the burn'.

I managed an hour today, no doubt aided by the fact I was riding on the patio. It may seem perverse, but I've got a lot to do today and I find it easier to train on the rollers than go out on the road.

Leg speed felt good, but it's now time to transcend feelings and move into cold hard data, so I need to find my computers and get them fitted. Flanders waits for no man.

(for the record, Strava doesn't work on the rollers, but I'd kind of guessed it wouldn't)

My obsession with the Classics from Feb through to Oct will be covered on here. I love the races in Belgium, in particular the Tour of Flanders (Ronde van Vlaanderen). Paris Roubaix along with the Giro di Lombardia are my favourite Monuments. My own exploits will be on here also, which are small and mean nothing to the wonder of the races over the pave.
